\nNJ's Acting Commissioner of Education, Chris Cerf, is seeking your comments on New Jersey's high school tests as they look to transition away from the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA), whose contract with the assessment company expires in 2012. In addition to the HSPA, this contract includes the Alternative High School Assessment (AHSA) and the Biology Competency Test. When providing comments, the Commissioner suggests that you take into account that federal law requires that students be tested in Language Arts Literacy, Math & Science at least once during the high school years; and that NJ law requires students to pass an assessment to graduate.
